The GIB Foundation is participating in the 20th Annual Session of the Global Forum on Human Settlements (GFHS 2025) — an official event convened at the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) Headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, on 4–5 November 2025.

This milestone session brings together leaders from international organisations, government, academia, and the private sector to explore how local innovation and cross-sector collaboration can accelerate progress toward resilient, inclusive, and low-carbon urban futures.

As part of the thematic panel on “Nature-based Solutions for livability and climate adaptation,” the GIB Foundation will share insights from its ongoing work under the EU-funded MED-IREN project, focusing on how coastal Nature-based Solutions (NbS) can strengthen resilience and enhance quality of life in Mediterranean regions.

Agenda:

  • 4-5.30pm: Parallel Session 2B
  • Nature-based solutions for livability and climate adaptation
  • Moderator: Mr. Charles Karangwa, Head of the Nature-based Solutions Management Hub, International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN)
