Press Release GIB and CHINCA MoU

London, 11 September 2025 – The Global Infrastructure Basel Foundation (GIB) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the China International Contractors Association (CHINCA) at the China–UK Infrastructure Green Financing Cooperation Seminar held in London. The event was co-organized by CHINCA and supported by the China Chamber of Commerce in the UK (CCCUK).

The seminar brought together stakeholders from Chinese and British financial institutions, enterprises, international organizations, and professional bodies to exchange perspectives on green finance innovation, project risk management, and third-market cooperation.

During the seminar, GIB presented the FAST-Infra Label, a globally applicable framework that identifies and evaluates sustainable infrastructure projects. The Label aims to create a credible, consistent, and liquid asset class for sustainable infrastructure, helping to mobilize private capital at scale.

The MoU between GIB and CHINCA establishes a framework for collaboration to advance sustainable infrastructure investment and financing. It reflects both organizations’ commitment to promoting environmentally and socially responsible infrastructure, supporting the transition towards a low-carbon and climate-resilient global economy.

“We are delighted to formalize our partnership with CHINCA. By working together, we can accelerate the mainstreaming of sustainable infrastructure practices and unlock investment flows that drive positive environmental and social outcomes worldwide,” said Chengchen Qian, Senior project Manager at Global infrastructure Basel Foundation.

“CHINCA is committed to promoting sustainable infrastructure investment and enhancing international cooperation. Partnering with GIB will allow us to bring global standards such as the FAST-Infra Label into practice, helping Chinese contractors and financiers better align with sustainability goals while creating opportunities for joint action with international partners,” said Ms. Xiang ZHANG, Vice Chairman of CHINCA.

This partnership builds on GIB’s ongoing work with global stakeholders to align infrastructure investment with sustainability standards and international climate goals.
